Hello Parents of BLAST Students!
We've got our concert/all-nighter tonight. If you forgot to sign up your child and they want to go, call me at 610.304.2351. We've still got some tickets available.
Also... each Sunday we like to have snacks for our students. Unfortunately, this summer we haven't had much in the way of snacks because we haven't had a snack mom to help us out. Well things have changed and Jonna Hannan (Darryl's mom) has stepped up to the plate to help organize parents bringing snacks for Sundays. So she needs your help. This past Sunday she very graciously provided snacks for all our kids. If you'd like to help us out by bringing snacks, we (Jonna, me, our volunteers, and the students) would greatly appreciate it! She needs some this Sunday, 8/17 especially.
What's included in the Sunday morning snack? I prefer to give something other than sugar products and doughnuts to our students. Our kids get enough of that stuff already. So finger fruits and veggies (carrots, grapes, strawberries, etc.) and/or bagels and cream cheese... whatever is good for our kids to eat. We usually have 50 people or so in attendance on any given Sunday morning. So enough for that many people to snack on. And please don't bring any drinks. There's a water fountain right outside our door if our kiddies get thirsty.
Thanks so much!
-Brian

Hey BLAST Parents!
I'm sure you're curious about the details of our Pool Party this Thursday evening... Due to the vast majority of our kids being at Adventure Camp this week, we're going to switch things up a bit.
So no more Pool Party on Thursday, Aug 7. Instead we'll head out to Peace of Pizza to eat dinner together and hang out. So, drop off and pick up will be at the COS Gym from 6-8:45pm. Bring $5 instead of $3 as pizza is a bit more expensive there than at Domino's. If you're going to arrive at the gym later than 6:15pm, call my cell: 610.304.2351 and let me know so that we'll wait for you.
Thanks & God bless!

‘Ello!
Today was the last day of VBS, I’m sad, because I had a great time with the kids, and I might not see any of them again, and we had a great time hanging out. GUESS WHAT!?!?!? We got to pick out ministry teams, (there’s crafts, teaching, drama, and games) you will NEVER EVER believe what I picked. Don’t bother sitting down, folks, because you’ll just stand right up again… DRAMA! I decided that I wanted to raise my confidence in front of groups of people, so we did skits every day. Also, today, we cleaned the entire church from the end of camp until 7, a bunch of the girls had a massage train afterwards because we were so sore! We also play so many fun games! Mostly it’s 4-square, and we would play it endlessly; it’s addicting! We also play signs quite a bit, and it’s really funny because even when we’re not playing, we’re playing! (I’ll have to explain later.) Along with all of this fun, we have great food (can you say TACOS and PIEROGIES!?) I’m one happy girl J) Well, I guess I have to go, and if I don’t blong until Sunday, I’ll see you guys at the church service! (It’s different, but fun!) I love y’all!
Hugs and Kisses,
Lina♥♥♥
P.S. Here’s a message for Gabi: Dear Gabi, I.H.Y.S.G. Love, Lina
Hey Mueller people I hope you guys had a good trip at Cape May and I hope you’re doing well. I’m doing fine and having a great time. I can’t wait to see you guys on Sunday because I love the service. I love the passion and power. It is epic. We finished VBS on Friday and now we’re holding a huge lunch for everyone who helps out in Chester or the Church. Then we go to Olive Garden for dinner. After we have an affirmation circle where you go around and just say compliments about each other. O ya and good news I led one kid to Christ at VBS!
Skyler
Hey everyone! I have had an amazing time here in Chester. Yesterday we finished our last day of VBS and it was really good. Ellyn and I both did teaching and bible verse. I think that it went really well. The things that we did for service projects changed from going to the pregnancy center, to picking up and breaking up sticks. Yester day our service project was cleaning up the church and it took a long time but we got everything done. I really am grateful for the time we had here and although I am happy to be going home I am sad to be leaving here. So that is basically what we have been doing. Love you all,
AMANDA PALOMINO
Hey Family,
Everything’s REALLY great here. Even though we had service projects like helping out at the pregnancy center and picking up sticks, I don’t think that it was that hard. I feel like I have gained a lot of responsibility over this week and that I have made a lot of new friends. Even Emily and Mike, the summer interns, they are so awesome. Today were having a big appreciation lunch at the community center and then were going to Olive Garden for dinner tonight so that all should be fun. I miss you guys a lot and will see you tomorrow when you come here for church.
Lots of Love,
Liz
You families are blessed with some kids who give me pause as I see their love in Jesus as they serve and bless others in the power of the Holy Spirit! Thanks for sharing them with us in Chester!
Proclaiming Jesus to the glory of God!
Growing in His Love…..Abbie’s Mom
Hey everyone,
Today is Saturday, so you might not get this in timeL When you come to Chester, after you pick me up we might need to go home (in Phili.) for an hour or two because it’s easier to wash all my cloths there, and I need to get some stuff for camp. I miss you all.
Love Ya,
Carrie♥☺☼
Hello…
I can tell you a few more things about me now that I’ve been on this trip a few more days. I never want to see a stick again, and my muscles have grown considerably from scrubbing baseboards for two hours. Just to let you know, Mom, I have indeed changed my showering schedule. Aren’t you proud of me?
With that aside, VBS is over. I was on a roll memorizing the kids’ names, too. I’m also so thankful for this trip because I want to read the bible so much more than I did before. I think having brought 1776 along to read helped me compare God’s word to an historical account of God’s plan for humanity. Only having recently realized that that’s really what it is, a God-breathed account amassed from different people, I think I can relate to it so much more now. I don’t know why I hadn’t made that connection sooner. Just one of the many lessons about me and my relationship with my savior learned this week. I miss you all, and I can’t wait to see you all tomorrow at the service. Love ya.
Ellyn 7/23/2008Amanda Palomino

Hola Stevenson Familia!
Hehehe, I spoke Spanish for you, Mami :-0 Buutt… THIS HAS BEEN ONE OF THE BEST WEEKS OF MY LIFE!!! Ok, ok, I know that you know that I was nervous at first, but I am having the time of my life! You wouldn’t imagine the side-splitting laughter, the 4-square, signs, and Mad-gab! Not to mention VBS and service projects. Sorry, this is really short, but it’s hard for me to not be in the action, but I’ve made LOTS of new friends, and almost earned $5, but I’ll tell you about that later. Got to go!
X’s O’s, and lots of ♥,
LINA!!!!!!!!!!!! ♥☼☺
Hey Volpert central!
I’m still alive and having fun. I miss you all so much! Today was the second day of VBS and it’s going great! The kids are having so much fun, and learning about Jesus too! Hide-and-go-seek-in-the-dark is really fun, and so is signs. I am learning so much about God too! I miss you all so much♥☺♥☻♥☺♥

Hello…
I have to say that this week has so far has been eventful. Even the first two days in which we didn’t have much to do were pretty busy with laughter. Sunday’s service here at CRCC was a medley of hip-hop and gospel worship, where we were to “put something in your hand and shake it in the air!” at a point to get everyone excited for the ongoing praise. Later, we all played Mad Gab for what seemed like hours. It most likely was. The only reason we would ever play a game for that long is if we were having and absolutely hilarious time. The nightly rounds of Hide-and-go-Seek are a bottomless well of good memories as well. We know who the ”scarers“ and the screamers are. Yesterday, we held the first day of VBS, which was a blast. I was chosen to participate in the teaching block this year, having played a few parts in the drama block last year. I feel – let me emphasize – I feel that I have a bit more direct impact on whether the kids understand the message of the skit or not. That puts me in a bit of a position, doesn’t it? I can easily say that returning for my second round of Chester missions is an advantage. I know what to do for once. Four-square has returned, as it ever will. As long as nothing is broken. I hope so. Some kids from the neighborhood have joined us to play, and are currently enjoying four-square with Skyler and Co. I had better join. More stories in the next blog. Even more when I get home. See ya.
Ellyn
Hey Muellers
Hey mom and dad and Ned I’m doing fine just a little tired and my foot is doing great. We all are in a group for the V.B.S we’re running like drama, games, crafts, and teaching. I’m in drama with Aaron Hicks, Liz Anderson, Catalina Stevenson, and a kid from the neighborhood who is too old for camp (Daniel, he’s awesome). Our supervisors and leaders are Aaron Han and Mike Vierra. It’s a fun time. Hope you’re doing well and I hope grandma is too. Tell her I say HI. I’m out.
Skyler 7/21/2008
Hokey… go…
Hey Family,
We got here safely last night and had a lot of fun things to do. We went to the church service today and it was very different but cool. We start our VBS tomorrow so it should be fun! Love you all!
-Liz Anderson
Skyler Mueller
Hey mom and dad and ned if your there im having a good time so far. Hope you guys are alright. My foot is feeling better by the way. Love you guys have a nice week.
Amanda Palomino
Hey everyone! I am having a great time and cant wait for tomorrow to begin! Today we had church today, it was very different than COS but it was a good different. My ankle is a little sore but it is not painful and that is an answer to prayer. So basically that’s it. I love you all and am sad I missed the end of David’s party. Love you.
Hey Everyone!J!J!J!J!J!J!J!J!J!
We are having tons of fun here in Chester! Today is Sunday and we attended the awesome service here at Chester’s refuge in Christ church and had a great time. Vacation bible camp starts tomorrow and Abbie assigned me to crafts. I’m so excited. I love and miss you all so much L. Keep on praying!
XOXO,
JCarrieJ 7/20/2008Hey Chester parents! We had a great first day. We made it there safe and sound. So far we’ve been door to door with fliers inviting kids to Bible camp, we’ve made our Chester t-shirts, and we’ve spent a lot of time just hanging out.
Thanks for your prayers! On with our first set of blogs:
Hi Mom, Dad, Nate, Eric and Biscuit!
We have safely arrived in Chester and are doing great. We have had a great day so far and got to make our Chester missions shirts, (mine looks terrible). I miss u already, but I like being here a lot! Type back if u can!
Luv U,
Carrie
HEY EVERYBODY!!!
We got here today safely, and it was REALLY HOT!!! (And no, not because I was wearing capri’s.) I’m was just playing a really crazy game of 4-square right now, but I’m not very good. This is certainly not how I remember playing it before!! We’re going to play hide-and-seek in the dark tonight, which really freaks me out, but we’ll be playing it all week, so I’ll probably get used to it. I miss you all, and good luck this week giving the cat her medicine! See you soon!
Lots of Love,
Zoe

3] High-Energy Kids by Doug West
- Since we don't have much in the way of announcements today I thought I'd throw an article at you. Below is an excerpt from the article.
"In the past decade several highly caffeinated and sugared beverages, with brand names like “Jolt” and “Surge,” were popular among youths. Over the past several years there has been the rise of so-called energy drinks, which are legal for underage drinkers and fashionable thanks to celebrity word of mouth. The lure of energy drinks in an increasingly hyper-scheduled culture, and their promise to help consumers keep up with the accelerating pace of life—whether to get/keep the party going or pull an all-nighter—should not be surprising. CPYU explores this growing trend in energy drinks, particularly on their appeal to teens."
"Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." - Psalm 46:10
God bless.
